Why Thriving and Living?

Let’s first explore the terms.

Thriving

To prosper; flourish

Living

To supply oneself with the means of subsistence

In today’s society, it’s not uncommon for our daily grind and hungriness towards attaining that perfect life to take over and cloud our vision of what’s happening on a daily basis.

Here is a solid, golden piece of advice to hold onto : You should be thriving and living on a daily basis. Every single day. Every single day should include a moment of self care. Every single day should provide your body with fuel. Every single day should provide your mind with rest. Every single day, victories should be celebrated, and good things lived.

To me, this looks like taking my lunch time to unwind, breathe deeply and reset. Every single minute of it. To some, it may look like waking up 30 minutes early to get their thoughts sorted out over coffee. It may look like a long bath at the end of the day, glass of wine in hand. Or an early bed time.

The most important thing is that we create these daily moments, and that we defend them fiercely, with no apology. I’m sure you’ve heard of the expression “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”.

Truer words have never been said. But it’s important to ensure that our cup remains in a healthy state on the daily. A cup re-filled only once every few weeks is not a healthy cup.

A cup re-filled only on the weekends is not a healthy cup.

If I can leave you with any lingering thought today, I hope it is that thriving and living should be something we strive for every single day.

Stay tuned for more discussion on the how’s and why’s!
